Audio-Visual Application Engineer

Description

The A/V Application Engineer manages simultaneous activities of multiple projects and engineering design of A/V integrated systems. He/she is the project interface with customer's technical representatives and will serve as project manager for A/V systems including conference rooms, auditoriums, training classrooms, multimedia facilities, video conferencing, and unified communications collaboration solutions.

The Application Engineer supports the sales staff in quotation creation, labor cost estimations and system design.  He/She is responsible for the successful design, implementation, and integration of all assigned projects.

We require experienced, self-directed engineers capable of working independently in a highly supportive, fast-paced environment. You will be involved from concept to completion, engineering state-of-the-art audio-visual systems throughout New York and Vermont. You will have the ability to work at client sites which may include United States Military Academy, Cornell University, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Homeland Security, Syracuse University, Air National Guard, General Electric, Corning, Lockheed Martin, New York State Police, NYS Emergency Management Office and many more.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Industry technical trends and extensive experience in developing technical solutions and conceptual engineering design specifications in response to customer systems.
  • Possess a mastery of the equipment, design principles, and systems employed in the A/V Solutions industry.
  • Significant experience with design and installation pertaining to A/V Systems is essential.
  • Ability to work with the sales department & customers, conduct site surveys and produce design changes on deadline.
  • Ability to communicate in clear, concise, and logical terms, both orally and in written form, with Government and Commercial clients, internal staff, and management is essential.
  • Availability for overnight travel primarily in New York and Vermont.
